GO TO FRANCE ON A TRAIN

27.10.19

Yesterday

Train to St. Pancras

O.K.

Now woken up.

Train at 8.15 ->Paris

He is in the shower.

We’re staying at Premier Inn.

It’s O.K.

Gonna do yoga now.

I didn’t.

St. Pancras

with him

He’s playing DRAW RACE on his phone.

I’m reading Patti Smith. She’s talking about dreams. I’m trying to remember mine. I can’t.

I said to him as we walked from the Inn to St. P that we should make sure we don’t lose each other/make sure we can always see each other.

I CAN SEE HIM RIGHT NOW. HE’S NEXT TO ME.

Eurostar

We’ve just come out of the tunnel into France.

Still reading Patti.

He’s watching TITANS.

I’m listening to 80s music. Currently DuranDuran ‘HUNGRY LIKE A WOLF’.

The flat we’re staying in is near the cemetery where Chopin, Edith Piaf, Balzac Jim Morrison and lots of other people are buried. I think we’ll go.

HE just looked out of the window at FRANCE.

He is in France.

With me.

Tracy Emin.

I Will Miss My Time With You

I just overhear a young voice say “I’m not going on a plane anymore, I’ve made a promise to myself.”

So. We can’t get to Spain. Today. So. We are traveling to Paris instead.

28.10.19 Our apartment near Charonne Metro

Yesterday we went to Musée Picasso.

I liked Picasso’s humour-his ‘minimalising features’ thing.

Looking with him was different. We had fun.

We slept really late.

Didn’t get up until 10.

So today we went to Centre Georges Pompidou. (Georges Pompidou was the first president of France.)

We enjoyed looking at ART.

WE DIDN’T GO TO THE CEMETERY

Today it’s C’s Birthday.

I can hear his heavy sleep breathing above me.

His new joggers

hanging off the edge of the bed.

He didn’t have a nose bleed yesterday.

Maybe he has got used to Paris.

Tomorrow is Halloween. He is going to Bs party. He’s wearing his new trainers.

What will me and his brother do?

Brother is SIXTEEN.

Heart Shaped Nostrils.

We don’t want anybody to die.

Eurostar Waiting Area Gare du Nord

He is playing Tycoon.

He owns a gym business.

I’m reading Patti Smith

When we went through passport control at Gare du Nord they stopped him. I was already on the other side. Tears came into my eyes as he called ‘MUM!’

It was fine-it was just because he wasn’t 18+. But it reminded me of the children separated from their parents when familes are seeking asylum.

Train from Kings Cross to Leeds

IT’S GRIM ON THE TRAIN.

Apparently Virgin trains have cancelled a train so this train is overfull.

People are angry because other people are sitting in their reserved seats.

GRIM ATMOSPHERE.

We were lucky got here on time to make it to our reserved seats.

NO EYE CONTACT
